Dichen Fuser setup and EDID flashing

A Fuser combines the ESP drawn by your second PC with the game video from your gaming PC and outputs both to a single monitor, so you no longer need a second screen next to you. Dichen's 4th-generation boards — and the 6th Gen Fuser we sell — also let you rewrite the EDID, the identity string a monitor reports to the PC. Spoofing the EDID is optional; the Fuser works fine on its stock identity.

Before you start

Have the Fuser, the HDMI or DisplayPort cables it shipped with, both computers and the monitor within reach. Wire everything exactly as the manufacturer's diagram shows before you flash anything — the order of the cables is not arbitrary.

Flashing

1) Download the setup PDF. It contains the wiring diagram and every option in the flashing tool; keep it open while you work.

2) Download the EDID tool. The archive contains two executables for the two board revisions — try the first, and if it does not detect your Fuser, use the other.

3) Flash the Fuser with the tool and, if you want, choose a custom EDID. The PDF explains each setting.

Good to know

The wrong executable simply fails to detect the board; it cannot damage it, so trying both is safe. EDID spoofing is a belt-and-braces measure — the cheat works either way. If a step refuses to cooperate, open a ticket in Discord and we will flash it together.
