A DMA setup is three things: a card that reads the gaming PC's memory, firmware that keeps that card invisible to the anti-cheat, and an input device (MAKCU or Ferrum) that turns aim commands into real mouse movement. Ask on DiscordDMA firmware is the software flashed onto your DMA card. Stock firmware identifies the card as a DMA device, which anti-cheats block. 1:1 emulated firmware makes the card present itself as a real, legitimate device — the same IDs, descriptors and responses — so ACE, BattlEye, EAC, RICO or Vanguard see ordinary hardware. Without undetected firmware a DMA cheat cannot run safely.
Both are full 1:1 emulations. Slotted builds are private profiles sold in limited slots, so far fewer cards share the same device identity. That exclusivity is what gives slotted firmware its longer lifespan and higher price.
